The City of Flagstaff is inviting community members to provide feedback on three potential designs for a new city logo. A poll and survey are available until January 11, 2025, at flagstaff.az.gov/logo.

Since the summer of 2024, the City of Flagstaff has collaborated with the NAU VisualDESIGN Lab to develop a design that reflects the city's organization as well as its history, culture, and values. The initial phase involved over 100 sketches, which were refined into three distinct designs based on prior community input.

City Logo Concept 1 features a whimsical landscape icon showcasing Flagstaff's famous dark skies and the San Francisco Peaks. It includes a professional typeface suitable for an official city logo.

City Logo Concept 2 incorporates elements like the San Francisco Peaks and Ponderosa pine forest in a sleek design. It uses star and circle motifs to represent dark skies and snowy winters. Seven stars and branches symbolize life at 7,000 feet elevation.

City Logo Concept 3 combines two iconic aspects: the San Francisco Peaks and Flagstaff's dark sky designation. Tree rings are used to symbolize community diversity and natural landscapes.

The partnership with NAU VisualDESIGN Lab allows the City to obtain a professional design without incurring costs. Additionally, there are plans to repurpose the current city logo as the City seal to preserve its historical significance.
