A prescribed burn is scheduled to take place southwest of the Lynwood and Cheshire neighborhoods on Wednesday, October 23. The Flagstaff Fire Department will oversee the operation, targeting around 36 acres within the Jesse Gregg RX Units. On-site resources will include the City of Flagstaff Wildland Fire Management Module and representatives from the NAU School of Forestry.

Smoke will likely be visible in the area during the burn, drifting northwest as ignitions occur. Residents and visitors should anticipate potential overnight smoke impacts in Cheshire and Lynwood. However, no road or FUTS trail closures are expected. The execution of all prescribed burn plans depends on weather conditions.
