The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office is encouraging residents to reduce landfill waste by participating in several events throughout October and November. These initiatives include a Drop-Off Day, a Fix-It Clinic, and a Pumpkin Drop-Off.

Drop-Off Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coconino County Health & Human Services located at 2625 N King Street. More information and a list of accepted items can be found at flagstaff.az.gov/dropoffday.

The Fix-It Clinic will take place on Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Joe C Montoya Community & Senior Center, situated at 245 N Thorpe Road. The event aims to support sustainable consumption by repairing items that might otherwise be discarded. Volunteers will assist with fixing electronics, jewelry, clothing, bicycles, and more. Details are available at flagstaff.az.gov/fixitclinic.

To prevent pumpkins from ending up in landfills, the Pumpkin Drop is organized for Monday, November 4, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Flagstaff Sustainability Office located at 419 N. Mogollon. Carved pumpkins can be dropped off for composting through the City's partner Compost Crowd.

For further inquiries about these events, individuals can reach out to Steven Thompson, City of Flagstaff Sustainability Manager, at (928) 213-2144 or via email at steven.thompson@flagstaffaz.gov.
