The Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library, in collaboration with the American Library Association, is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month this September. The initiative encourages community members to explore the extensive resources and opportunities available at their local library by obtaining a library card.
The Flagstaff Public Library, located at 3000 N. 4th St. and 300 W. Aspen Ave., offers a variety of programs beyond traditional book lending. Patrons can participate in book clubs, author talks, story times, and access a collection that includes books, DVDs, music CDs, and games.
Throughout September, several activities are planned to promote library card sign-ups:
- **New Library Card Punch Card**: New cardholders will receive an activity punch card eligible for a raffle prize.
- **Library Card Bingo**: Participants can pick up a bingo card at either location's front desk. Completing the activities on the card enters them into a raffle with multiple prizes.
- **Behind the Scenes Tour of the Library**: A tour will be held on September 13 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm at the Downtown Library. Tours of the East Flagstaff location are available throughout September upon request and availability.
- **Free Replacement Library Cards**: Throughout September, existing account holders who have lost their cards can obtain free replacements by presenting a picture ID.
Community members are encouraged to visit the Flagstaff Public Library during this month-long event to sign up for a library card and explore all that their local library has to offer.
