Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases have increased. This time of the year, many adults and children catch the common cold. Sometimes, what looks like a cold can actually be RSV. Many people recover quickly from RSV in a week or two, but it can be potentially more serious for others such as infants and elderly individuals. Some people are more likely to develop severe RSV infection and may need to be hospitalized.
RSV season occurs every year, and now is the time to take preventive action to keep you and your child safe. Take these preventative measures in order to stay healthy this season:
- Was your hand frequently with soap and water.- Avoid close contact and distance yourself from sick people.- Cover your coughs and sneezes.- Clean and disinfect surfaces.- Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.- If you're feeling sick, stay home.
