Cheryl has raised more than $30 million dollars to support Coconino County schools, educators, and families. Many of her grants have been written in collaboration with other agencies to better serve community members.

Cheryl was appointed to the office of Coconino County Superintendent at the beginning of 2021. She has served in this capacity with the same zeal that she led the Innovation and Development department. As the Coconino County Superintendent of Schools, Cheryl has made outreach to rural communities a priority. Regularly visiting outlying communities to spread awareness for services offered through CCESA and to recruit candidates for school board positions.
