FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – The City of Flagstaff is inviting community input on the design aesthetics for the Milton Underpass. This initiative aims to enhance the downtown gateway through community-informed public artwork that reflects the unique character of Flagstaff.
Jana Weldon, the Beautification, Arts & Sciences program manager, stated, "We’re excited to hear from the community. This is an opportunity to help create something lasting and meaningful in a space many of us pass through every day. Public input is essential to this process."
Weldon emphasized the importance of community voices in shaping the project: "Whether you walk, bike, drive, live, or work near Milton Road, your voice matters. The goal is to make the underpass not just a functional part of the city, but a welcoming and reflective space for all."
The Milton Underpass is a component of the Downtown Mile Project. This broader initiative focuses on improving public safety, transportation options, and rail infrastructure in the downtown Flagstaff area.
