Construction on the north half of a new arch culvert on Cedar Avenue in Flagstaff, Arizona, is set to start on Monday, April 21. The project is a collaboration between the City of Flagstaff and Eagle Mountain Construction. It involves replacing the existing box culvert with a larger capacity arch culvert to manage post-wildfire water flows in Spruce Wash.
The work will not obstruct traffic completely, as construction will occur in phases. The construction team will install the arch culvert one half at a time, ensuring Cedar Avenue remains open. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained with lane shifts. Pedestrian and bicycle access will still be available during the construction period. Motorists are advised to follow the designated signage and detours.
City authorities have expressed gratitude for the public's patience and cooperation throughout the construction process.
