The City of Flagstaff is undertaking an inventory of its water service lines to comply with requirements set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). This initiative aims to identify the location and material type of all city water service lines.

City customers whose service lines have unknown materials will be notified in early November 2024. There is a possibility that these unknown materials could include lead or galvanized pipes previously connected to lead. The notices will provide guidance on how customers can help determine the material of their water service line.

Further details about water quality in Flagstaff are available in the latest Flagstaff Consumer Confidence Report. According to data collected for this report, which has been updated every three years since the 1990s, Flagstaff’s water systems consistently remain below lead action levels as per EPA regulations.
