The City of Flagstaff and its contractor, Eagle Mountain Construction, have announced the completion of the Grandview Drive Reconstruction Project. This project involved lowering and replacing utilities along Grandview and a full street reconstruction to install new curbs, gutters, and inverted asphalt to better channel floodwaters. It marks the first in a series of planned flood mitigation projects under the Spruce Wash suite.

Flagstaff Mayor Becky Daggett stated, "The completion of the Grandview Drive Reconstruction Project is a reason to celebrate and a significant step toward mitigating post-wildfire flooding in this area. Thank you to the residents who voted for Prop 441, giving the city the necessary funding, to city staff for their dedication, and to all the impacted residents for their patience. Together, we’ll keep making progress toward making flood-impacted neighborhoods safer."

Despite the project's completion, flood risk remains along Grandview Drive and surrounding areas. Residents are advised to follow the interim conditions map released in April 2024 and place sandbags close to their homes rather than along roadways. For engineering estimates or sandbag requests, residents can call 928-213-2102.
