The Boulder Pointe neighborhood and Woodland Dr are set to undergo traffic calming infrastructure installation starting Monday, May 20, with completion expected in August 2024. The project aims to address speeding concerns in the area by implementing traffic calming measures such as traffic circles, pedestrian crossings, and curb bump outs.
The project will take place at five locations: University Ave between Majestic Rd and Tombaugh Way; north of the University Ave and Highland Mesa Rd intersection; the intersection of Highland Mesa Rd and Ax Handle Way; Woody Way; and Woodland Dr between Maricopa St and Trail of the Woods.
Traffic control devices will be put in place and lane restrictions will be enforced throughout the week. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or brace for potential delays when traveling within the project limits.
