Lone Tree Improvements Public Meeting Scheduled for April 4, 2024

The City of Flagstaff has announced a public meeting for the Lone Tree Improvements project, set to take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Flagstaff City Hall. The meeting will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a presentation scheduled for 5:45 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to share project designs, describe construction phasing and traffic impacts, and introduce the contractor.

According to the announcement, improvements to the Lone Tree corridor will include the construction of a new overpass extending Lone Tree Road between Butler Avenue to the south and Route 66 to the north. Other enhancements comprise a new intersection at Lone Tree Road and Route 66, bicycle lanes, trails, landscaping, and modifications to existing intersections.

The construction will be divided into two phases. In the first phase, the contractor will focus on constructing roadway and intersection improvements along Lone Tree Road from Brannen Avenue to O’Leary Street and on Butler Avenue from Elden Street to Lumber Street. This phase is scheduled to commence in May 2024 and continue through 2025. The second phase will involve building the grade-separated bridge on Lone Tree Road between Brannen Avenue and Route 66, creating a new intersection at Route 66 and Lone Tree Road, and incorporating art, aesthetic treatments, and landscaping across the entire project area. Phase two work is set to take place between 2025 and 2027.
