The Glendale Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for the 2024 summer season and is recruiting approximately 100 certified lifeguards to join the squad responsible for the well-being and enjoyment of residents and visitors at the city’s two aquatic facilities.

The city is paying lifeguards $25 an hour – the highest rate among Valley cities. People interested in applying must be certified or enrolled in a certification course, which is available through the city beginning March 2 through March 16.

Participants who take and pass the lifeguard course through the city of Glendale and are hired and work the entire summer (May through Labor Day 2024) with the city will be reimbursed the fee for the course.
