The Flagstaff Police Department received FIFTY (50) AED units which were made available through a grant from the Arizona Health First Foundation of Northern Arizona, in partnership with Griffith Blue Heart.  This partnership will allow our agency to outfit each patrol vehicle in service with an AED, putting critical lifesaving tools in the hands of officers who are sometimes on scene prior to medical personnel arriving.  Additionally, when officers deploy the AED units, medical personnel can seamlessly assume care for patients by utilizing the device already in use, which increases patient survival opportunity when seconds count.

Receiving the AED units included testing officer retention of training and instruction rates.  During practical testing on site, officers performed at a 99-100% rate.  Brandon Griffith, President/CEO of Griffith Blue Heart administered the live tests and was pleased with the performance of officers after he and his group provided training during the Law Enforcement High-Performance Resuscitation Course held at the Flagstaff Police Department.

The Flagstaff Police Department would like to extend our thanks to Brandon Griffith & Griffith Blue Heart Staff, Guardian Medical Transport Battalion Chief Isabelle Deslauriers and Staff, as well as the Arizona Health First Foundation of Northern Arizona for their time and financial support in providing critical lifesaving tools for our agency.
