Coconino County attended Arizona Forward’s Environmental Excellence Awards Gala this evening as award nominees and was honored to have won The Governor’s Award for Arizona’s Future and The President’s Award for our Flood Control District’s Forest Restoration Initiative.

The President’s Award, a prestigious honor, is selected from among all other award nominees across all categories.

The County was also a semi-finalist for an award for Buildings and Structures, Commercial or Institutional for our County Medical Examiner’s Facility.

Chair Patrice Horstman, Deputy County Managers Lucinda Andreani and Sue Brown, Forest Restoration Director Jay Smith, Public Affairs Director Trey Williams, Sustainability Coordinator Amanda Acheson, and Facilities Director Tom Hanacek attended the ceremony on behalf of the County.

Congratulations to our Flood Control District and to our Forest Restoration Director Jay Smith for their continued excellence in serving the residents of Coconino County as well as the other winners.

Thank you to Arizona Forward and all of our fellow nominees. It is truly an honor to be working alongside trailblazers and leaders for environmental excellence and sustainability.
