The Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) and Northern Arizona University (NAU) have announced that they are teaming up to create the new COVID-19 Aware Enhanced Food Handler’s Certification.
The Enhanced Food Handler’s Certification program works to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the food-service industry.
The recommendation practices are based on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines for COVID-19. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is also teaming up to help the project. By utilizing the Enhanced Food Handler’s Certification program, restaurants and eateries will know more about how to increase safety to their guests, employees and the rest of the community.
Food-service businesses and employees can participate in the program online, and there are no fees involved.
A COVID Aware certificate will be displayed in the establishment's window to indicates that the business is promoting safe practices and supports local proclamations and Executive Orders.
