Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will host its annual Beethoven 5K run on June 7 at Fort Tuthill County Park. The event, set to start at 8:00 am, aims to celebrate classical music and the organization's 75-year contribution to the community.
The run honors Ludwig van Beethoven, whose Fifth Symphony opening is a staple of the classical music repertoire. It emphasizes Beethoven's lasting impact on music and the inspiration his work continues to bring.
Participation in the run supports the symphony's educational programs, including Link Up and The Lullaby Project. These initiatives focus on music education, fostering connections between new parents and their children, and offering world-class performances.
The event caters to competitive runners, though it also welcomes walkers and joggers. Participants will receive a technical fabric tee-shirt and a timing bib, with awards going to the top finishers.
Registration is available at the Flagstaff Symphony's website, with a discounted rate until May 10. Elizabeth Vogler, a board member and race director, is available for media inquiries and sponsorship opportunities.
