The AZ Blue Foundation has announced the opening of a $100,000 grant aimed at enhancing mental health care for mothers in Arizona. The initiative comes as part of the Thiru Family Trust Momentum Maker Grant, with applications open to Arizona nonprofits until March 27, 2025.
This year's grant is dedicated to maternal mental health and seeks to fund programs that provide mental health services and support during pregnancy and postpartum periods. Areas of focus include access to mental health care, social connectedness, early screenings, and addressing postpartum depression.
The grant is supported by the Thiru Family Trust in collaboration with the AZ Blue Foundation. "Mental health is just as important as physical," stated Thiru Thangarathinam. "This grant helps Arizona moms get the care they need for themselves and their families."
Dr. Christine Barcamonte Wiggs, President of the AZ Blue Foundation, highlighted the importance of such initiatives: "We are thankful to partners like the Thiru Family Trust for their ongoing dedication to improving the mental health and overall well-being of our communities. Their support enables us to make a lasting impact on countless lives in Arizona."
