The City of Flagstaff has announced a grant opportunity through its Beautification, Arts & Sciences (BAS) program. The Beautification in Action (BIA) grant invites artists, community members and groups, schools, and local businesses to apply for funding aimed at projects that enliven and revitalize public spaces. Applications will be accepted until March 15 at 5 p.m., with up to $7,500 available per project.

Eligible projects may include community gardens, neighborhood paths, benches, sculptures, murals, among others. Priority will be given to initiatives that provide lasting impacts by fostering cultural connections and strengthening neighborhood awareness and identity. Projects must be publicly accessible and visually engaging.

Funding for the BIA grants comes from the City of Flagstaff’s Bed, Board and Beverage (BBB) tax. Grants are awarded biannually in September and March through a competitive process.

The BAS Program aims to enhance Flagstaff's sense of place by preserving the built and natural environment while promoting public art and cultural heritage. More information about the application process can be found on their website: www.flagstaff.az.gov/4411.
