Andrea Graves enjoys a blended career in performing arts and higher education teaching and administration at Northern Arizona University. Andrea is currently Coordinator for National & International Scholarships and Fellowships assisting all Lumberjacks in the application process for competitive awards such as Fulbright, Truman, Goldwater.
Andrea is also Piccoloist and Section Flutist with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Ponderosa Chamber Players, Duo Catalina, and the Verde Valley Sinfonietta. As a Yamaha Performing Artist, she has performed throughout the United States, in Central America, and in the United Kingdom and presented numerous clinics for K-12 students. Her most recent scholarly activity includes High-Quality Connections: Coaching for Success in a New Age for the University of New Mexico Mentoring Institute Annual Conference (2020) and One Stop: A Holistic Path to Student Success for College and University, quarterly journal of the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (Vol. 95 No. 3, 2020). Previous music publications include Progress Press sheet music for alto flute and piano and recordings for Crystal Records and Mark Moore Productions. Previous faculty appointments include Western Illinois University, Texas Wesleyan University, and Interlochen Arts Camp. She holds degrees from Texas Tech University (BM), The Juilliard School (MM), and The University of North Texas (DMA). Her continuing education projects at Northern Arizona University include instruction for the First Year Experience Program course Making Major Decisions and certification in 7 Habits of Highly Effective People(R), Prosci ADKAR(R) Change Management, and the 2020 NAU University Leadership Program
