Announcement

Coconino Community College recently issued the following announcement.

In postwar America, there was no newspaper comic strip more recognizable than Charles Schulz's Peanuts. For nearly fifty years, Peanuts was a mainstay of American popular culture in television, movies, and merchandising.

Join us for a fascinating look at politics through the lens of Dr. Blake Scott Ball's book Charlie Brown's America: The Popular Politics of Peanuts, facilitated by CCC history professor Dr. Matthew Hernando.

Blake Scott Ball is assistant professor of History at Huntingdon College. He is the author of the book Charlie Brown's America. He completed his doctorate at the University of Alabama. Dr. Ball lives outside the state capital of Alabama with his wife and three daughters.

Dr. Matthew J. Hernando has been with Coconino Community College since the Fall of 2018. He teaches history and humanities courses for the college, as well as Colorado Plateau Studies. He completed his doctorate in history from Louisiana State University in 2011, and he is the author of one book, Faces Like Devils: the Bald Knobber Vigilantes in the Ozarks, published by the University of Missouri Press in 2015.
