The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra's season finale concert will feature a collaboration with the NAU Shrine of the Ages Choir and the Master Chorale of Flagstaff. This event is scheduled for Friday, April 18th, at 7:30 p.m., taking place in NAU’s Ardrey Auditorium.
The concert will present Verdi’s Requiem, a significant and emotional piece that incorporates operatic elements with the Latin Mass for the Dead's text. The music was composed to honor one of Italy’s esteemed poets, and it depicts a range of human emotions, from despair to joy. The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will perform alongside the NAU Shrine of the Ages Choir, the Master Chorale of Flagstaff, and four guest vocal soloists.
"Join us as we celebrate the finale of FSO’s 75th season with a rare opportunity to hear Verdi’s stunning masterpiece," invites the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra.
Tickets for the event can be purchased through the NAU Central Ticketing Office either online or by phone, and a special offer is available using the BOGO code TWO4ONE, allowing attendees to gain an additional ticket free of charge.
In addition to the performance, a pre-concert reception will start at 6 p.m. in the Kitt Recital Hall Atrium. At 6:30 p.m., Chorusmaster Dr. Timothy Westerhaus will join the "Chat with Charles" to discuss the story behind the music and introduce the guest soloists.
The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra aims to "enrich, engage, and inspire" through orchestral music performances. Founded in 1950, it is a regional orchestra comprising 65 musicians and serves an audience of more than 14,000 each season. The FSO is recognized as the largest and most active nonprofit performing arts organization in northern Arizona.
