Former Flagstaff High School standout Hallie Watkins and the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls fell to the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets, 12-11, in their NCAA Division II softball game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
The matchup was held at Yellow Jacket Field and marked the teams’ second meeting this season. Earlier Saturday, March 7, the Cowgirls were edged out 4-3 by the Yellow Jackets.
Watkins contributed one hit in two at-bats, drove in a run and drew a walk.
The Cowgirls are slated to face Black Hills State again at Yellow Jacket Field on Sunday, March 8, at 11 a.m.
