Northern Arizona University's athletic department is celebrating a notable academic achievement for the spring semester. The student-athletes collectively earned a grade point average (GPA) of 3.411, with 12 teams achieving a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Notably, the women's cross country, swimming and diving, soccer, volleyball, and women's track teams all recorded GPAs exceeding 3.6.

The Dean's List included 54% of the student-athlete body, marking the highest percentage in department history. Ten teams had at least half of their members on the Dean's List, and 87 student-athletes achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs.

The NAU football program also reached a milestone with a GPA of 3.296, its highest ever.

Seventy Northern Arizona student-athletes graduated after the 2023-24 academic year. Additionally, 228 student-athletes were recognized at the Golden Eagle Awards for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.

At the conference level, nearly 100 student-athletes were named to Fall and Winter All-Big Sky Academic Teams, with more announcements expected for Spring. In April, 23 athletes from swimming and diving joined the Western Athletic Conference Winter Sports Academic All-Conference Team.

The academic success mirrored achievements in sports competitions as well; men's programs secured their league-leading 18th Big Sky Conference All-Sports Trophy while women finished second. Overall, Northern Arizona claimed seven conference championships during the year.
