Northern Arizona University (NAU) has seen 51 of its student-athletes recognized on the Big Sky Conference's Spring All-Academic Team. The announcement came from the league office in Farmington, Utah, highlighting the academic and athletic achievements of these students.

To qualify for this honor, athletes needed to meet several criteria: participation in at least half of their team's competitions, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2, and completion of at least one academic term at their current institution. For indoor track and field participants, competing in either half of the team’s events or at the conference championship was necessary.

The Big Sky Conference included 667 student-athletes from various sports across ten institutions on its Spring All-Academic Team. NAU's representation comprised five golfers, six men's tennis players, six women's tennis players, 21 women's outdoor track and field members, and 13 men's outdoor track and field members. Among these honorees were 12 students with perfect GPAs of 4.0 and another 39 maintaining GPAs above 3.5.

NAU's athletic teams also celebrated significant successes during the spring season. The men's tennis team secured a regular season title while the women's track and field team claimed their fourth consecutive outdoor championship. Additionally, NAU women's golf finished as runners-up at the Big Sky Championships with Lizzie Neale achieving an individual title by setting a conference record.

Overall academic performance was notable within NAU’s athletic department as well; student-athletes collectively achieved a GPA of 3.411 during the spring semester with twelve teams reaching or exceeding a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Furthermore, more than half (54%) of all student-athletes made it onto the Dean's List—an unprecedented achievement for NAU—with ten teams having over half their rosters included on this list.

The football program also marked a milestone by recording its highest-ever GPA at 3.296 while celebrating that seventy athletes earned degrees in the past academic year.
