The Peoria Police Department, in collaboration with the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, is organizing a Motorcycle Safety class on Saturday, February 3. The event will take place at the Peoria Sports Complex, located at 16101 N 83rd Avenue.

The class, which is free of charge, will run from 8 am to 1:30 pm and is open to the general public. It aims to enhance the safety of motorcycle riders by providing them with valuable knowledge and practical skills.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the program will commence with a brief classroom discussion that covers safe riding habits and general motorcycle safety. This theoretical component will be followed by hands-on course instruction, where participants will have the opportunity to practice critical riding skills. The goal is to ensure that riders can respond effectively to hazardous situations on the road.

It is important to note that this class is not intended for new riders seeking a motorcycle endorsement. To be eligible for attendance, individuals must possess a valid driver's license and motorcycle endorsement.

Those interested in participating can register online at the official City of Peoria website, specifically at https://www.peoriaaz.gov/motorcycleclass. However, it is worth mentioning that seating is limited, and applicants will be selected based on an application screening process.

In light of this upcoming event, Officer Smith from the Peoria Police Department emphasized the importance of motorcycle safety. He stated, "Motorcycle riders face unique challenges on the road, and it is crucial for them to have the necessary skills to navigate these challenges safely. Our goal is to equip riders with the knowledge and abilities they need to protect themselves and others while enjoying their motorcycles."

The collaboration between the Peoria Police Department and the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety highlights the commitment of both organizations to promoting safe driving practices and reducing accidents involving motorcycles. By offering this Motorcycle Safety class, they hope to contribute to a safer road environment for everyone.

If you are a motorcycle rider in the Peoria area, don't miss the opportunity to enhance your riding skills and learn important safety techniques. Register for the Motorcycle Safety class today and join the effort to make our roads safer for all.
