Peoria's libraries are hosting a special event this week called "Touch a Truck," where attendees can get up-close and personal with various city vehicles. The event, part of the Winter Reading program, will feature a garbage truck, police car, and fire truck for visitors to explore.

The trucks will be on display at two library locations. The first stop will be at the Peoria Main Library's Parking Lot on Tuesday, December 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. The address is 8463 W. Monroe Street. Then, on Thursday, December 14, the trucks will make an appearance at the Sunrise Mountain Library, located at 21109 N. 98th Avenue, also from 10 to 11 a.m.

This event is not only a chance for kids and adults alike to see these impressive vehicles up close, but it also offers an additional incentive for attendees. Every person who attends will earn an extra register-to-win slip for the Winter Reading drawing.

For more information about the event and the Winter Reading program, you can visit the Peoria Library's website at https://peoria.polarislibrary.com/.

In an interview with Peoria Library spokesperson, they stated, "We are excited to bring this unique experience to our community. The Touch a Truck event allows children and adults to get an up-close look at the vehicles that play such an important role in our city. It's a fun and educational opportunity for everyone involved."

Don't miss the chance to see these impressive vehicles in person and take part in the Winter Reading program. Mark your calendars for Tuesday and Thursday and head to the Peoria libraries to "Touch a Truck."
