Arizona Rep. Austin Smith utilized platform X (formerly recognized as Twitter) to strongly criticize the Biden administration's choice to overlook the border situation during the president's recent visit to Arizona. Instead of addressing the border concerns, Biden's visit centered on designating a new monument at the Grand Canyon.

"Southern Arizona shouldn’t be this dangerous," Smith tweeted. "Human trafficking is modern slavery and it’s happening right here in Arizona. Instead of Biden traveling to Douglas or Hereford, Arizona today to see firsthand his incompetence, his handlers have him convinced to kneecap uranium mining in Arizona for the climate cult instead."

On his recent journey to Arizona, President Joe Biden ignored the border completely and designated the Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni Grand Canyon National Monument. The purpose of this visit was to take steps toward protecting almost one million acres of uranium-rich land from mining. This decision, made under his authority derived from the Antiquities Act of 1906, is a point of contention as it contradicts Biden's emphasis on climate-friendly energy. This is due to the fact that uranium is a crucial component in the development of clean energy, yet this action inhibits domestic uranium production, according to National Review.

This year, as part of Operation Cross Country, a nationwide sex trafficking initiative, five children were rescued in the Phoenix region, and 31 individuals were apprehended for engaging in sexual contact with minors. The operation consists of The FBI Greater Phoenix Area Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Forces, comprised of officers from Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix and Tempe police departments. Last year, 15 minors were located in Arizona, and over a span of two weeks, more than 200 victims of various ages were identified, according to Arizona's Family News.

Currently, in Tucson, Arizona, the daily influx of migrants has surged to around 1,900, marking a staggering 134% increase from June's average of 812. This includes the presence of substantial groups, raising officials' apprehensions about the potential involvement of smugglers. The communities of Lukeville and Ajo in Arizona are also facing challenges in accommodating migrants, leading to a situation where many are left outdoors due to overcrowded facilities, especially in the face of temperatures exceeding 110 degrees, according to CBS News.

"As we predicted, numbers have skyrocketed," wrote Border Patrol Union on the X platform. "We're at 6,000 arrests and 1,000 known escapes daily. Where is Biden's MSM? Breathless coverage of the temporary 'drop' from historic highs that went on for 2+ years and now they've disappeared. A modern master class on how propagandism works."
