Track & Field Returns to Tempe for ASU Invitational

Northern Arizona Track and Field will return to the Valley of the Sun on Friday (10 A.M. PT) and Saturday (10:30 A.M. PT) for the ASU Invitational this weekend; live results will be made available. Fellow Big Sky Conference competitor Sacramento State will be in the mix as well. 

The meet will lead off with the men and women's hammer throw as Will Beaudry, Jacob Kaufman, Jack Murphy, Blake Baloun, Garret Bernt, Kimberly Buchanan and McKenna Chaney respectively compete. 

Next, Madeline Wilson and Jack Normand will participate in the women's and men's high jump.  

Then, Beaudry and Bernt will return to the ring for men's discus alongside Jay Neilsen, CJ McMullen, Rudy Tapia, and Jake Arnold; Matilde Roe and Carly Watts are set to compete in the discus for the Lumberjack women.

Women's Pole Vault with Joelle Santiago will be the final field event of the day. 

At 5:30 P.M. (PT) the track will start up with the women's 100-meter hurdle preliminaries, as Kiana Kai, and Wilson will run for the NAU women, followed by Wil Peralta and Trenton Givens in the men's 110-meter hurdles prelims. 

Later, Miracle Onyemaobi, Alyssa Colbert, Synfanie Crudder, Wilson, LiNay Perry, and Melanie Loff are set to run the women's 200-meter, while David Dunlap, Erick Thompson Jr., Kyle Smith, Zachary Sutton, Alex Alton, Matthew Roma, Zach Schroeder, and Ethan Seppala will suit up for the Lumberjack men. 

Nikita Moore, Meagan Van Pelt, Caleb Easton, Santiago Gomez-Prosser and Jordan Black will respectively compete in the women's and men's 3000-meter run. 

Aiden Barnhill is scheduled to run the final event of the evening, the men's 3000-meter steeplechase.

Saturday will open with men and women's long jump, as Cameron Peters, Sirr Butler, Ian Lipsey and Royal Butler IV, Lily Margolis, Kenashsalee Kerr, Courtney Weisenberger, and Jenna Figueroa respectively compete. 

Butler and Peters will return for the men's triple jump along with Mitchell Effing and Normand. 

The Lumberjack throwers will open up the women's and men's javelin with Piper Pfister, Jade Kwinn, Trevor Hook and Clayton Zupke respectively. 

While Buchanan, Watts, Arnold, Tapia, Baloun, Parker Bays, and Cole White get ready for the women's and men's shot put. 

Dominick Singer will also participate in the men's pole vault before the track events get underway. 

The track will open up at 3 P.M. (PT) with the men and women's 4x100-meter relays, followed by the 100 and 110 meter hurdle finals. 

Colbert and Crudder will compete for the Lumberjack women in the 100-meter dash while Dunlap, Smith, Sutton, Thompson Jr., Roma, Lipsey and Joshua Bennet compete for the NAU men. 

Meanwhile George Kushe and Theo Quax will begin their outdoor seasons with the men's 800-meter. 

In the 400-meter hurdles, Givens, Alton, Seppala, Schroeder, and Peralta will run for the NAU men, while Kai competes for the Lumberjack women. 

Later, Loff, Moore, Van Pelt, Barnhill, Black, Easton, Kusche, Gomez-Prosser, and Quax will return for the women's and men's 1500-meter run, respectively joined by Riley Human. 

The meet will conclude with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays.
