FLAGSTAFF REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER: Breastfeeding Basics to be held November 11

Breast

Flagstaff Regional Medical Center recently issued the following announcement.

Congratulations! You are expecting a baby and it is an exciting time. The members of our Childbirth Education team at Flagstaff Medical Center are here to help you and your family prepare for this experience. We offer a variety of classes and services to give you the information and assistance you will need for birth and beyond. Classes are taught by Labor and Delivery nurses and certified and specially trained healthcare professionals. Early registration is recommended, as classes fill up quickly.

Course Description

Get a head start on successful breastfeeding before your new baby arrives. Topics include initiating breastfeeding; techniques and positions; selecting the correct breast pump and supplies for your needs; correct breast milk storage; problem solving; and day-to-day management. Partners are encouraged to attend.

You will need to bring the following items to class: two pillows, a doll or stuffed animal, and a pen and paper to take notes. You will also need a refillable water bottle to use throughout the evening. Feel free to bring some snacks for you and your partner. Be sure to wear comfortable, stretchy clothing.

Please try to arrive 10 minutes early so that you have time to get signed in and settled in, as class begins promptly at 6:30 PM.

Breastfeeding Basics was a great class. I learned so much about what to expect and how to manage breastfeeding once I return to work. I highly recommend this class to all mothers who will be breastfeeding for the first time - Class participant

All classes are held in the NAH Education Center, 1000 N. Humphrey's St. STE 240-241, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
