T Mobile USA Inc. issued the following announcement on Aug. 18
Today, the California Independent System Operator (ISO) advised that because of high heat and limited energy supplies, power providers across the state should be prepared to implement rotating power outages through Thursday, August 20.
T-Mobile is monitoring the situation and staying in close contact with the power providers. Rotating outages are implemented to help prevent more widespread and serious loss of power.
Our priority is to keep our customers connected. In the event of rotating power outages in the next two days, it is possible that there may be intermittent impact on our service.
We encourage customers to take a few quick steps to prepare in advance of likely rotating outages:
- Follow PG&E and SCE on social media to stay up to date on the situation:
o PG&E Twitter
o SCE Twitter
- Fully charge all your devices. Consider investing in a charging device like an external battery that doesn’t need a power outlet – and fully charge it as well.
- In the event the T-Mobile network is unavailable and power is available to you at home, set up Wi-Fi Calling on your phone. For Apple phones, go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling; and for Android phones, go to Settings > More Connection Settings > Wi-Fi Calling.
