The Attorney General's Office paid an average compensation of $64,140 during 2018, according to data compiled by The Arizona Republic. Arizona public employees as a whole averaged 8 percent less with a compensation of $59,597. Total compensation is made up of an employee's annual salary with the addition of any overtime pay earned throughout the year.

The highest-paid public employee working for the Attorney General's Office—Michael Bailey—earned $171,295.

When calculating average compensation, only employees categorized as full time were included.
