Northern Arizona University had 57 student-athletes named to the 2025-26 Big Sky Winter All-Academic Team, according to an announcement from the Big Sky Conference office on April 24. The honorees represent men’s and women’s basketball and indoor track and field.

This recognition highlights academic achievement among athletes who balance sports with rigorous coursework. To qualify, student-athletes must have participated in at least half of their team’s competitions, maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 after the most recent term, and completed one academic term at their current institution.

The NAU men’s track and field team led with 23 honorees following its fourteenth consecutive conference indoor title. The women’s track and field team, which has won five straight championships, had 18 athletes recognized. Women’s basketball saw nine honorees while men’s basketball had seven, meaning more than half of each roster was included on the list. Of all Lumberjack recipients, twelve currently hold a perfect 4.00 GPA in undergraduate or graduate programs; thirty-eight have GPAs above 3.50 and twenty-four are at or above a 3.70 GPA.

A total of 545 student-athletes across all Big Sky institutions were recognized for winter sports this year. Northern Arizona competes as part of the Big Sky Conference according to the official website.
