On Sunday, March 8, at 1 p.m., the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls, featuring former Flagstaff High School standout Hallie Watkins, claimed an 11-6 victory over the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets in their NCAA Division II softball matchup.
The contest was held at Yellow Jacket Field. This marked their fourth meeting with the Yellow Jackets this season. Earlier Sunday, March 8, the Cowgirls dropped a 4-1 decision in their prior matchup.
Watkins collected two hits in four plate appearances.
The Cowgirls are set to play next on Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at Brandt Field against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks.
