Northern Arizona Healthcare and Nackard Pepsi officials gathered on April 23 to celebrate the renaming of The Taylor House guest kitchen to “The Nackard Pepsi Hospitality Kitchen.” The kitchen, located at The Taylor House in Flagstaff, will continue to serve as a space where patients and their families can prepare meals while away from home during medical treatment.
Palmer Nackard, President of Nackard Pepsi, said during the ribbon cutting event that he was born at Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Flagstaff Medical Center, as were his children. According to Nackard, “Northern Arizona Healthcare plays an important role in caring for the Northern Arizona community and offering resources that allow patients and their families to focus full attention on their health and healing. We’re proud to add our support to The Taylor House and all it represents for lifting up our neighbors in a time of need.”
Nackard Pepsi has supported Northern Arizona Healthcare and its programs for more than two decades. Dave Cheney, CEO of Northern Arizona Healthcare, said, “We are so appreciative of this generous donation from Nackard Pepsi, a donation that would not have been possible without the diligent efforts of NAH’s Office of Philanthropy. It is our obligation to make a patient’s health journey as seamless as possible for them and their families, and we look forward to continuing to welcome guests in the years to come.”
Northern Arizona Healthcare operates The Taylor House to provide reduced-price lodging for patients and families who travel for care or outpatient treatment. NAH is described as the largest healthcare organization in a region covering more than 50,000 square miles with over 40,000 staff members serving more than 700,000 people through hospitals including Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center.
Nackard Pepsi has distributed beverages across Northern Arizona for over 80 years under family leadership spanning three generations. The company contributes annually to more than 450 local causes and organizations.
