Mi Tesoro Modern Mex will hold a Cinco de Mayo celebration at its location in Flagstaff Mall on May 5, featuring mariachi music and food specials.
Lorena Encinas, owner of Mi Tesoro Modern Mex, said the restaurant is more than just a business. “It’s my story, my roots and my heart on every plate,” Encinas said. She added, “I created this space not just to serve food, but to create a place where people feel at home, where culture is celebrated and where every dish has meaning. Mi Tesoro is not just my restaurant. It’s my dream, my passion and a reminder that with hard work and heart, anything is possible.”
The event will include mariachi music from 5 to 8 p.m., as well as street taco and margarita specials available throughout the day.
Encinas said she brings recipes from her childhood to life each day at the restaurant and aims to share her background with guests who visit.
