The intersection at Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue/Lockett Road in Flagstaff will be closed to all traffic on Saturday, September 13, from 5 a.m. to midnight. The closure is necessary for final roadway striping as part of the ongoing Fourth-Lockett Roundabout Project, a joint effort between the Arizona Department of Transportation, the City of Flagstaff, and their contractor.

According to officials, this step is required so crews can safely apply new pavement markings and allow them time to dry. The intersection is expected to reopen to vehicles on Sunday morning, September 14.

“During this one-day closure, extensive vehicle and pedestrian detour routes will be in place (as shown in the maps below). Please follow the marked signage to get to your destination. Mountain Line will be temporarily relocating bus routes and stops throughout the area, view the live map for more information. We appreciate your support, patience and understanding while we work to improve our City’s infrastructure. For questions and additional project information, call the project hotline at (928) 255-5153.”

The roundabout project aims to improve local infrastructure by enhancing traffic flow and safety at a key city intersection.
