The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), in partnership with the City of Flagstaff and Fann Contracting, has completed the Fourth-Lockett Roundabout Project. The new roundabout, located at the intersection of Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue/Lockett Road, is now open to both vehicles and pedestrians.

The project replaced a signalized intersection with a roundabout designed to improve safety and traffic flow. It features flashing pedestrian crossing beacons and a crosswalk at the fourth leg of the intersection. In addition to roadwork, crews installed new water, sewer, and storm drain infrastructure.

According to Jeremy DeGeyter, ADOT’s Northcentral District Administrator: “ADOT, AZTEC Engineering, and Fann Contracting are excited to complete this project for the benefit of the residents of the City of Flagstaff. Many years of effort and community involvement were involved in the development of this project and during construction, the many stakeholders, including the City of Flagstaff, Fann Contracting, and ADOT, worked closely together to keep the project on track for a timely completion to meet our commitment to the community and surrounding schools, businesses, and residents, and we are thrilled that this project will safely serve the surrounding community for years to come.”

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to follow marked signage as they adjust to using the new roundabout. Final fencing installation and clean-up work will continue over several weeks. For further information about the project or questions from residents, a hotline is available at (928) 255-5153.
