The City of Flagstaff will host an event titled “Voices Unheard: Breaking the Silence – a Community Gathering for Prevention, Strength, and Healing” on Wednesday, October 22. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Coconino Center for the Arts, located at 2300 N Fort Valley Rd. The purpose of the gathering is to educate residents in Northern Arizona about the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives crisis and to raise awareness of issues such as violence, stalking, and harassment.

In addition to the main event, two films will be shown in advance. On Monday, October 20, there will be a screening of “She Cried That Day” at 5:30 p.m. On Tuesday, October 21, another film will be shown at the same time and location.

All three events are open to the public and free of charge. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register ahead of time at https://elev8voices.info/.

The events are supported by the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, and the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth. For more information about the events, Rose Toehe, Indigenous Affairs Administrator for the City of Flagstaff, can be contacted at Rose.Toehe@flagstaffaz.gov.
