The City of Flagstaff has opened applications for its new Technology Privacy Task Force. The task force will consist of 10 members who will review the city’s current technology policies, examine proposals for new technology, and provide input and recommendations on how resident data is collected, used, and protected.

According to the city, it aims to form a group that represents the diversity of the community. “The City is committed to building a task force that reflects the full community and is actively seeking a wide diversity of views, backgrounds, and expertise – you don’t need to be a technology expert to serve on the Task Force,” the city stated.

Community members are encouraged to apply if they advocate for civil liberties or vulnerable populations, own a local business, work in technology or cybersecurity fields, have legal or policy expertise, or are residents interested in digital rights and civic engagement.

Applications are being accepted until Friday, December 5, 2025. The selection committee will start reviewing applications during the week of December 8. The first meeting of the task force is expected to take place in January 2026.

For more information or questions about applying, individuals can contact CJ Perry, Information Technology Director for the City of Flagstaff.
