Flagstaff Senior Deputy City Manager Shannon Anderson is set to receive the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) in January 2026. This recognition places Anderson among more than 1,300 local government management professionals who have achieved this status through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

The ICMA works to promote professional standards in local government by focusing on leadership, management, innovation, and ethics. Its credentialing program requires significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, an academic degree—preferably in public administration or a related field—and a demonstrated commitment to integrity and ongoing professional development.

Senior Deputy City Manager Anderson stated, “I am honored to be recognized as a credential manager by ICMA. It is a reflection of my commitment to the ICMA Code of Ethics and a high standard of integrity which can help build trust in our local government.”

ICMA describes its mission as advancing professional local government worldwide through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics.
