The City of Flagstaff is updating its Carbon Neutrality Plan and is seeking community input through a series of open house events. The plan update aims to reflect recent progress, improve the experience for users, and ensure that residents have an opportunity to engage with local climate action efforts.
According to city officials, staff will revise projections for greenhouse gas emissions and provide a report on achievements since 2021. The redesigned plan will focus on making information more accessible and easier to use. Despite these changes, the city emphasized that its three carbon neutrality goals and core strategies—reducing emissions, increasing resilience, and ensuring community equity—will remain unchanged.
Three open house sessions are scheduled: an in-person event at Murdoch Community Center on September 20 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; a virtual meeting via Zoom on September 25 from noon to 1 p.m.; and another in-person session at East Flagstaff Community Library on October 1 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
