Flagstaff City Council ends contract for automated license plate camera system

The Flagstaff City Council has decided to end its contract with Flock Safety, a company that provides automated license plate recognition technology. The decision was made during the council meeting on December 16, 2025.

Following the vote, the Flagstaff Police Department deactivated the system immediately. The department will also coordinate with Flock Safety to remove all cameras that were part of the city’s agreement.
