Flagstaff announces city facility closures and adjusted waste collection for Labor Day

Flagstaff City Hall at 211 W. Aspen Ave. will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. City Hall is set to reopen on Tuesday, September 2.

Other city facilities that will not be open on Labor Day include the Cinder Lake Landfill and Hazardous Products Center, Citizens Cemetery, Downtown Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library, East Flagstaff Community Library, Hal Jensen Recreation Center, Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center, and the Materials Recovery Facility.

The Aquaplex at 1702 N. Fourth Street will remain open with regular hours from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the Jay Lively Activity Center at 1650 N. Turquoise Drive will also operate with its regularly scheduled programming.

There will be no residential trash or recycling collection on Monday, September 1. Households with usual Monday trash service will have their waste collected on Tuesday, September 2. Recycling normally picked up on Monday will instead be collected Wednesday, September 3. Collection schedules for other residential customers are unchanged.

Commercial trash and recycling services are also suspended for Labor Day. Collections for commercial customers will occur throughout the week to accommodate the holiday schedule.

City of Flagstaff to begin roof replacement at historic Milligan House

The City of Flagstaff announced it will replace the roof at historic Milligan House starting May 11. Work should take about a week with measures taken to preserve its architectural character.
