The City of Flagstaff will begin Phase 1 of its 2026 Road Repair and Street Safety Project during the week of April 27, according to an announcement released on Apr. 23. The work will cover several roads throughout the city, with completion expected in the fall.
The project aims to update infrastructure for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists by performing crack sealing, chip sealing, asphalt overlay, patching, curb and gutter repairs, sidewalk improvements, and pavement marking. Residents are advised to expect intermittent traffic impacts such as short delays or minor backups along affected routes during construction.
Areas scheduled for work include Woodlands Village Boulevard; Marketplace Drive; Switzer Canyon Drive; sections of Downtown including Columbus Avenue and Aztec Street; Zuni Drive; Boulder Point neighborhoods like Cliffview Street and Nada Street; Highway 89; Industrial Drive; Country Club areas such as Colter Drive and Burning Tree Loop; Astro Lane/Apollo Way; Canyon View Drive area streets including Circle View Dr. and Clearview Drive; George Street; Coconino Estates (Hopi Drive, Piute Road); University Heights (Debbie Street, Coy Drive); Luzern Circle; Lockett Road; Aztec Street again noted separately as well as Dodge Avenue.
