The City of Flagstaff announced on Mar. 19 that it will hold a meet and greet event for community members and staff to meet the finalists for the Flagstaff City-County Library Director position. The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 26 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at City Hall in Council Chamber at 211 W Aspen Avenue.
The recruitment process began after current director Linda Tillson announced her retirement effective April 1. According to the city, there were 27 applications received, with seven applicants selected for first-round screening interviews. Three candidates advanced to in-person interviews in Flagstaff.
The finalists are Laura Kimberly, currently Library & City Community Engagement Director for Newport, Oregon; Jeff Scott, former Library Director for Washoe County Library; and Jennifer Stasinopoulos, Deputy Library Director for City Services at the Flagstaff City-County Public Library. Each candidate brings years of experience in library leadership roles and holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree.
The City of Flagstaff delivers community services through its departments and divisions while encouraging public involvement via boards, commissions, and elections according to the official website.
