The City of Flagstaff’s Stormwater Section is set to begin restoration work on Cheshire Pond in November. The project will take place in the Cheshire Park area, located north of the Museum of Northern Arizona. According to city officials, the restoration is expected to last several months and be completed in 2026.

During the course of the project, access to the area will be restricted. The city noted that use of the FUTS trail near Cheshire Pond will also be limited while work is underway.

City representatives stated that “the restoration work will enhance the pond environment and improve conditions for local wildlife.”

The initiative aims to restore natural habitat and support biodiversity in this part of Flagstaff.
