Cal State East Bay Pioneers advance in NCAA Division II tournament with win featuring Michael Padilla

On Friday, March 13, Michael Padilla, formerly of Coconino High School, helped lead his collegiate team, the Cal State East Bay Pioneers, to an 83-64 victory over the Humboldt State Lumberjacks in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

The contest, which tipped off at 7:30 p.m. at Pioneer Gymnasium, marked the Pioneers’ first tournament faceoff with Humboldt State.

The Pioneers are scheduled to play their next tournament game on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m., also at Pioneer Gymnasium.
